Product Maintenance

Upsize Your Nozzle: While Wood PLA can technically squeeze through a standard 0.4mm nozzle, the organic wood fibers tend to cluster and cause frequent clogs. Upgrading to a 0.6mm nozzle is highly recommended for reliable, stress-free printing. Use Hardened Steel: Wood fibers act as a mild abrasive. Continuous printing will gradually bore out and degrade a standard brass nozzle. Install a hardened steel nozzle for longevity. Moisture Control (Crucial): Wood is incredibly hygroscopic; it sucks moisture out of the air rapidly. If left exposed in a humid room, the water will boil in the hotend, causing extreme stringing, bubbling, and weak, brittle prints. Always dry the filament at 55°C for 4 to 8 hours before use and store it in a dry box. Reduce Retraction: Wood fibers can clump if pulled back and forth too aggressively in the hotend. Lower your retraction speed and distance slightly compared to your standard PLA settings.
